Having 3 kids made me try various baby skin and hair care products. From store brands to expensive ones, these products produced different reactions on my children’s skin. Some made their skin dry while the others worked wonders.

Parabens are preservatives commonly found on cosmetics and skin care products. They prevent the growth of bacteria or fungus therefore prolonging their shelf- life.

Research has linked paraben usage to a number of health problems and environmental impact.

Parabens mimic estrogen that can interfere with hormone balance in your body eventually causing problems in the reproductive system. It is also believed to contribute to the growth of breast cancer cells in women. 

On the other hand, skin and hair care products are dyed with a synthetic color for pleasing appearance.  These chemicals are harmful to the body.

This baby wash and shampoo is always a must-buy on our grocery list.  You can definitely find a bottle in all wash rooms and sink.  Even my eldest who is 8 years old uses this one for his body. 

It has a light baby scent and is not irritating to the nose.  The new pump bottle is better than the pressure-click cap especially if both of your hands are not free and much easier to dispense.

It is tear-free, lathers well and cleanses the baby effectively. 

2. Aveeno Baby Eczema Therapy nighttime balm

This is an effective product in moisturizing baby skin for a longer period.  My youngest had mild eczema and this product soothed him day and night.  It has thick greasy consistency and prevents the skin from drying and itching. I use it more frequently during dry winter days.

If you’re looking for an unscented light daily lotion for babies, this is for you.  It makes the skin soft and doesn’t leave a greasy feeling when applied.  I only wish it comes with a smaller bottle or a travel pack.

4. Baby Calming Comfort Bath

Bath time is supposed to be fun. My second born loves the smell and it makes his hair really soft. The fragrance lasts longer than I expected.  I hope they also come up with a pump bottle for easy dispensing. 

Every skin is different.  I suggest avoid using this product if your baby has an allergic reaction to fragrance.

5. Baby Calming Comfort Lotion

We use essential oils to calm my kids down during bedtime but this product is the next best alternate.  Aside from keeping the skin moisturized, the scent gives a relaxing feel for a sleepy baby.
