Birthday Party Ideas For 1 Year Old Boy Based On Children’s Book

Our eldest has become a reader! At 9 years old, he seems to have graduated from chapter books and have started reading longer books like the Harry Potter and Percy Jackson book series. If you have a reader or if you want to develop a reader, you can choose from these birthday themes based on books.

Dr. Seuss Cat in the Hat

Ever heard of the often-used excuse “the dog ate my assignment”? This book is something like that, except for the clutter and mess or utter chaos that little kids usually unleashes inside the home! Although the Cat in the Hat helps the kids mess things up, he eventually helps them put things back together. This book is fun and will help kids learn the value of cleaning up and putting things back into order.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

You do know someone who eats a lot right? I’m not talking about your kids, although they certainly eat a lot, too! It’s the caterpillar who eats and eats and eats, and eventually turns into a beautiful caterpillar. For younger kids, it’s a great reminder of the importance of eating right and growing up into something beautiful!

Harry Potter (The Chose ONE

Our 9-year started reading longer books with more complicated themes last year. Believe it or not, he has finished all 7 books of the Harry Potter series! If you have an older child, too, this is a great series about being a “chosen one” and the importance of friends and developing the courage to stand up for what is right.

Llama Llama Red Pajama

Who doesn’t love a pajama party? For the kid in Llama Llama Red Pajama, though, wearing pajamas means going to bed and needing Mama right away when he needs something! Even though it’s a good book, you can also take cues by using pajamas and llamas as your boy’s birthday theme!

Mighty Mighty Construction Site

Our one-year old loves construction sites so much that he cried just to be allowed to wear his 3-year old brother’s construction theme jammies! From morning till night, construction vehicles work to build something new. And when your boy loves an excavator, a dump truck, a bulldozer, or any other construction vehicles, he will love a party with all of these!

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom

Who would have thought that letters would want to climb a coconut tree? But they just fell down after they crowd up on top! In any case, you can use this book as a party theme with its bright colors and naughty letters!

If You Give A Mouse a Cookie

Toddlers and young boys can make cookies disappear in no time! Add in a mouse and chaos will ensue! For sure, a lot of kids’ birthday parties turn into chaos, usually the good kind of chaos. But you’ll need to clean up, hopefully with the help of your child, and everybody will have had fun!

Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?

Kids are developing so many things in their boy and that includes their sense of sight! Add in photos of animals and they will squeal with glee when they recognize animals on the page. You can’t go wrong with nice photos of animals, and kids, and a teacher, too, when choosing a birthday party theme!

Peter Rabbit

Peter Rabbit is probably one of the oldest book characters in the world of print! By choosing this, you can bridge generations in your family and enjoy together!

Pete the Cat

Pete the Cat has been one of our eldest son’s favorite books growing up and our two younger boys are following suit! Pete the Cat is cool, he wants to do new things, and he has lots of friends! He’s a good theme for a birthday party!
